Dancin' with the ones that brung them?
A couple of readers were surprised to see that the Texas Railroad Commissioners, the three elected officials who oversee the oil and gas industry, got a lot of campaign contributions from the industry.
The website followthemoney.org spits shows that commissioners Michael Williams , Chairman Victor Carrillo and Elizabeth_Ames Jones got the bulk of their campaign money from the oil and gas industry.
The commission was criticized by the state auditor for its low level of inspections and for allowing inspectors to accept gifts from the companies they oversee. Williams wrote in an opinion piece that the audit was positive overall.
What do y'all think?

I would like a gift from the Railroad commission, I would like to see them enforce " All mineral interest owners have an opportunity
to develop their FAIR share of the minerals underlying their property."
Since the pooled royalty payouts in neighborhoods won't amount to
beans every year, it seems to me that "their FAIR share" would
fall under the bonus amounts paid, that allow the lease to be made
for mineral development. A major violation is occuring in the bonus
amounts being offered for the same gas field.
This is happening now folks. Time to step up and protest now, before
its to late to get your fair share of bonus money's. The Bonus
Amount is the most any of us will realize out of these wells being
drilled. Time to act against the unfairness of it now or forever
hold a grudge and regret. Contact the Railroad commission. For equality in the development/bonus of the Barnett Shale gas under
your house.
