Crowley council approves 10 Chesapeake wells

Croleybi The Burleson-Crowley Connection reports: the Crowley City Council recently approved 10 Chesapeake Energy gas wells "around the Crowley area."

Chesapeake plans six wells in the Horse Creek neighborhood, raising questions about noise from Mayor Billy Davis. "Chesapeake representative Dusty Anderson assured the council that if the company receives any complaints from homeowners about the noise, it will install sound barriers to dampen it," the Connection reported.

Construction on the wells should take no more than six months, Anderson told the council.

"During a public hearing on the wells, resident Kenneth Ainsworth approached the council and asked who would be liable if the well drilling and fracing causes damage to his home’s foundation," the Connection reported. "Another Chesapeake representative, Martin Johnson, said the horizontal drilling the company uses does not interfere at all with the surrounding area, and the company has never been sued for any damages to housing when drilling in other areas."
