Could Koren Robinson be an option?

Koren_2 Cowboys coach Wade Phillips believes his team is just fine at wide receiver. But owner/general Jerry Jones wants a talent boost at the postion. It appears, though, the chances of any new additions coming to town won't happen this year. But what about Koren Robinson? He is available and could come cheap.

Oakland and Kansas City are expected to have interest in the recently released Green Bay Packer. Robinson had 21 catches for 241 yards and one touchdown in nine games last season. He is also a former Pro Bowl kick returner, but first-round draft pick Felix Jones is expected to take the lead role in that department. Robinson is trying to revive his career after serving a suspension and jail time for alcohol problems.

Romo the Cub fan

Cubs Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo got a chance to throw out the first pitch and sing 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' at the Cubs game on Sunday. While Romo (who played at Eastern Illinois) has been known to dabble in karoke stardom, it didn't help in his painful performance at Wrigley Field. The fans also dropped some boos on the Cowboys star. Watch closely, does it appear a woman is covering her ear in one crowd shot? Poor Tony, apparently Jessica Simpson is not helping him with his singing. And anyway, Romo is always so much better singing when he's paired with Mr. Belding.

T.O. hangin' with Conan

To Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens was a guest on Conan O'Brien Thursday night. Pretty funny shot he takes at Conan during the interview.

Owens talks about how he dominates the daily lunch-time dominoes games at Valley Ranch. Other topics include his end zone dances and what he looks for in women. Odd reference in there to Sam Hurd, though. T.O., of all people, said he demands a low-maintenance woman. Has T.O. and low maintenance ever been written in the Conan_3 same sentence? Pretty good interview, check it out. Owens was also promoting his upcoming guest appearance on Under One Roof with Flava Flav that airs next Wednesday. He says he gets a chance to play a character and not himself.

Ellis supports Roy Williams

Cowboys linebacker Greg Ellis didn't take back anything he said about safety Roy Williams on Sirius Radio today when reached Thursday afternoon. But he did try to offer some perspective, while making sure his words weren't taken out of context.

"It bothers me when people criticize Roy," Ellis said. "I was trying to give Roy the benefit of the doubt and let everyone know that he told me before the season that the defense didn't fit the type of player he was.Roy is not going to say anything. Roy doesn't want people to think he was crying and complaining."

Ellis said he doesn't know that Williams has been distancing himself from the team, all he knows is that he works out a different time than most other players. Ellis is part of the early group of Cowboys who work at a 7 am and Williams is usually on his way out the door when they arrive.
"I don't know the reason behind that," Ellis said. "He just works out before the first group gets in there."

Ellis said the reason he got into this on Sirrus Radio today was because is growing tired of all the criticism Williams has gotten. He said its unfair that many fans are saying he shouldn't have made the Pro Bowl and that the Cowboys should get rid of him.
"I feel bad for my teammate," Ellis said. "Everybody is saying they need to get rid of him, they need to trade him. I think he gets a bad rap. I hate it for Roy myself. One thing you can't say I said aobut Roy is that he should be traded or let go. I think he should stay my teammate. When someone asks me a question, its my job to be on Roy's side and that's what I was doing. I don't think he should go anywhere. He should stay here."

Roy tells teammate he didn't fit defense

Roy In an interview Thursday with Sirius NFL Radio, Cowboys linebacker Greg Ellis revealed some stunning things about strong safety Roy Williams. He said Williams told him at the start of last year's training camp that he wasn't a good fit for Wade Phillips' 3-4 defense. The signs of this played out during the season as his role was diminished. With teams going to more three receiver sets, Phillips reduced Williams on the field to get better coverage matchups.

Ellis also said Williams has isolated himself from the rest of the team. Ellis said when he arrives at Valley Ranch at 7:30 a.m. to workout Williams is usually leaving.
