16-year-old arrested in fatal shooting
A gang rivalry resulted in the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy in Arlington, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested late Monday in Corpus Christi in the shooting death of Jesus Cerecerez (right), who was found dead in the 2400 block of Springridge Drive in southeast Arlington, police said.
According to the affidavit, Cerecerez and two friends arrived at a house party on Springridge Drive just before midnight. But they were told that the party was over.
They were leaving when Cerecerez noticed a rival gang member and confronted him, but police said he was shot in the chest.

Credibility issues prevent indictment in Saginaw double slaying
A prosecutor says "credibility issues" prevented a Tarrant County grand jury from indicting a Saginaw man accused of beating a partner to death with a guitar and then killing the victim's girlfriend.
The grand jury no-billed Juan J. DeLeon, 32, (left) on a capital murder charge Monday in the deaths of Leonel Garcia, 40, and Racine Espinosa, 21, whose bodies were discovered by firefighters inside a burning duplex on May 11, 2006.
Sheila Wynn, a prosecutor in the case, said she couldn't discuss the grand jury proceedings because they are secret.
She added, however, that "there were some credibility issues with the witnesses."
