12-year-old girl dies from drug, teen charged in death
Teens taking drugs lifted from a parent's drawer became a prescription for the death of a 12-year-old girl in Yonkers, N.Y., police say.
And they've charged a 15-year-old boy who they say stole methadone from his father's drawer and then sold pills to Dana Marie Regan, who later died.
The boy has been charged as a juvenile with criminally negligent homicide.
The boy's lawyer says his client's statement to police differs from what a police investigator told a judge Wednesday. The attorney said the boy's statement doesn't mention taking money for the drugs.

When are parents going to learn that no matter how you think you can trust your teenager, that they are going to have lapses in judgement? Prescription pills should be kept under lock and key. What an unfortunate incident for all.
