FBI: No evidence exists of "Smiley Face Gang" murders

On Tuesday, we wrote about the theory that at least 40 drowning deaths across the country were not accidental, but rather the work of a network of killers dubbed the "Smiley Face Gang."

That's the contention of a group of retired detectives and family members of the victims, who say the killers have struck at various locations across the country and have left a "smiley face" symbol at the scenes of the some of the crimes.

But, the FBI says there is no proof that the gang exists.
