More killings reported in Juarez drug cartel war
There was another brazen fatal attack and kidnapping in broad daylight Tuesday in Juarez, Mexico, the latest in a long series of slayings related to violence between warring drug cartels, the El Paso Times reports.
Tuesday's attack was on a street near the Juarez Country Club when armed men attacked a pickup truck with New Mexico license plates. It's occupants returned fire before the passenger was shot and killed and the driver taken away by the attackers.
Two other men were killed Monday evening in a similar incident when gunshots were fired into their car in south Juarez.
The Mexican border city has seen dozens of killings in recent weeks as police and Mexican military work to quell the violence.
