Fort Worth pastor accused in sex assault

Star-Telegram reporter Deanna Boyd has reported that a 31-year-old pastor of a southwest Fort Worth church was arrested Wednesday on accusations that he sexually assaulted a teenage girl in his church.

Jay Robinson, pastor of the Southwood Baptist Church, surrendered at the Tarrant County Jail Wednesday evening, jail officials said. Bail was set at $20,000.

The girl, who is now 18, told police that she and Robinson began a relationship when she was 16 that started with kissing and led to sexual touching. When she turned 17, they began having intercourse, she told police.

The sexual encounters took place at the church and at Robinson's home after he picked her up from school, she told investigators.

Robinson has been pastor of the church at 2633 Altamesa Blvd since October 2006, according to the church's Web site. About 450 people attend Sunday services, according to the Web site.

The Fort Worth Police Department's crimes against children unit began investigating the case in March after the girl's father called police.

How convienient, all these accusasions were made AFTER he announced his getting engaged...She out of spite is making these accusasions because of Jealousy. Not to mention on the day of Worship these so called Christians made the house of worship a total and utter circus slandering the Preacher out in the church parking lot not to mention in the Auditorium and Halls. If they were what they might call Gods children I think they really should examine their conduct and ask God for forgiveness HE WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE....

I know independent baptist pastors don't get paid much. So, I wonder who is paying Jay's lawyer bills??? Surely not the church itself???

If the church stuck by him this long wonder if they're gonna pay his legal bills...
