N.J. police bust down door as bird cries for help

No damsel in distress here.

Police in Trenton, N.J., kicked in the door to Evelyn DeLeon's apartment Wednesday thinking there was a woman inside needing help.

Instead they found Luna, DeLeon's umbrella cockatoo, the Trenton Times reported.

The bird was saying, "Help me! Help me!" and greeted officers with a "Hello" when they entered.

A 911 caller and the police had both been duped by the bird, which had fooled police at least one other time.

A few years ago, officers busted in looking for what they thought was a crying child only to find Luna inside, according to the report.
