Media interviews from the Tarrant County Jail with a teen suspect may become evidence in the case, and the defense attorney isn't happy about that, according to a news report.
The teen, Matthew Fox, and his girlfriend Brittany Herrera, were arrested in Fort Worth in connection with the killing of Herrera's father in Oklahoma.
Fox was held in the Tarrant County Jail awaiting transport back to Oklahoma. During his stay, he granted interviews to local TV stations and admitted to the killing, but said it was in self defense.
The prosecutors overseeing the case have already subpoenaed the interviews, according to The Oklahoman.
Fox's attorney (above, right) also took a jab at the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office for granting the interviews.
"I thought it was interesting that they let the media in the jail,” attorney Stephen Jones told The Oklahoman. "I thought that in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, they would have learned after the Lee Harvey Oswald/Jack Ruby incident that that was unwise.”
