Woman shot during post-Thanksgiving brawl

A post-Thanksgiving get-together at a home in south Fort Worth turned violent at about 1:30 a.m. Friday when the ex-boyfriend of a woman who lived there showed up with three friends.

There was a brawl, and then the woman's mother grabbed a handgun, which was wrestled away by one of the the ex-boyfriend's companions, police said.

That man pounded the gun into the back of the mother's head and then tried to shoot her, but the gun's magazine had fallen out of the gun, police said.

He slid the magazine back into the gun, jacked a round into the chamber and shot once, wounding a relative of the mother, police said.

The man may have also shot himself while fumbling with the gun.

Three people were arrested; others went to the hospital.

Argument results in stabbing, man's arrest

An Aledo man is facing aggravated assault charges after another man was stabbed in the hand during an argument Saturday night.

Danny Ray Caudle Jr., 18, is in the Parker County jail on $20,000 bond, according to the sheriff’s department.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 200 block of Westgate Drive in Aledo after Caudle got in to an argument with Clinton Imig, 18, and Imig's mother. Caudle was asked to leave their home because he was not following house rules, Sheriff Larry Fowler said.

Caudle was told to remove his belongings, but he refused to do so, Fowler said. Caudle returned to the home later in the evening to find his belongings by the curb.

He and Imig got in to an argument, and Caudle is accused of stabbing Imig in the hand, Fowler said.
