Jared Andrew Spruce, 27, of Benbrook, (right) was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of criminal mischief after investigators searched the home where he been staying.
Investigators removed a rifle from the home, as well as spent shell casings, authorities said.
Someone shot seven head of livestock Sunday, killing four. Two had to be euthanized and one heifer was shot in the jaw and was expected to recover.
But Sheriff Larry Fowler said Thursday that investigators had not determined a motive for the shootings.
