Men in black get guns from east-side pawn shop

Five men clad in black, riding in a black pickup truck, pulled up in front of an east-side pawn shop early today and used the truck to yank back the roll-up door.

A witness told police that the group made off with a bunch of guns and other merchandise.

Police said some of the guns were "assault-type" rifles.

A black truck was found a short time after police arrived, but it was about five miles away, in the middle of the street, with the engine running. Police later learned the truck had been stolen.

Sound familiar?

A similar crime was carried out last July, also on the east side. That store specialized in military surplus weapons.

Federal agents and police are comparing the two cases today. No arrests were reported as of 11:30 a.m.
