Carjacking turns violent, deadly in Dallas
High drama played out early this morning in Dallas when a carjacker wounded two people, took their car and then lead police on a pursuit. By the time it was over, a Garland police officer was wounded in the leg as she tried to stop the fleeing vehicle and the carjacker was dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
The incident caused southbound U.S. 75 to be shut down for the investigation. The northbound lanes have been reopened.
KDFW, Channel 4, had a news crew on U.S. 75 just yards away as the chase came to an end. See their report here.
