City fears release of 100-year-old unrepentent child molester

An unrepentant 100-year-old convicted child molester will be released from prison soon and residents of Buffalo, N.Y., are concerned.

Officials say that Theodore A. Sypnier is healthy, active, able to walk for miles, capable of caring for himself and -- most of all -- likely to prey upon children again. He was sent to prison for molesting two young sisters who he was babysitting in 1999. He says his conviction was a miscarriage of justice and that he'd like to get to know his great-grandchildren, the Buffalo News reported.

Santa actor gets prison time for sex with young boys

Wayne Nelson Corliss, a New Jersey actor best known for playing Santa Claus at birthday parties, was sentenced Monday to nearly 20 years in prison for traveling to Thailand so that he could have sex with young boys.

Corliss confessed last year.

U.S. District Judge Joseph A. Greenaway. minced no words in sentencing Corliss: "You have acted beyond the bounds of human decency."

Daycare operator's husband molested seven, including infant

Do your homework when choosing home-based day care.

A Ste. Genevieve, Mo., man has a slew of charges against him after he admits he molested five boys and two girls, ranging in age from infant -- YES, INFANT -- to 5-years-old.

William E. Huck admitted to the sexual abuse -- using fear against the children -- and told police that the incidents occurred while his wife was away from the center. She was unaware, according to reports.

Huck, 62, a retired railroad worker with no previous criminal history, is alleged to have confessed to molesting 40 children over the past three decades.

Judges aren't mind readers

WEATHERFORD _ You can change your mind about a guilty plea. But if you don’t tell the judge about it, you can still go to prison.

That’s what a Weatherford man learned recently when a state appeals court denied his request for a new trial because the trial judge didn’t withdraw his guilty plea after he changed his testimony during his 2008 trial.

  A Parker County jury sentenced Everett Salinas to 13 years in prison after he pleaded guilty in January 2008 to an indecency with a child charge.

During his sentencing hearing, however, Salinas testified that he did not touch the 13-year-old girl’s breasts for more than a brief moment in 2006 and did so to push her away from him, not for sexual gratification.

 Salinas' ’ attorney argued that the 36-year-old man should get a new trial  because District Judge Graham Quisenberry didn’t withdraw his guilty plea when his testimony contradicted his plea.

Appellate judges disagreed, saying Salinas should have withdrawn his own plea. Because he didn’t, he forfeited his right to a new trial, the Second District Court of Appeals ruled.

Evangelist accused of having a 9-year-old wife

An Arkansas evangelist is being held without bail on federal charges alleging he took a minor across state lines for sex.

This comes after some of his followers testified, among other things, that Tony Alamo, 74, practiced polygamy with several women, one of them a a 9-year-old girl. Followers also said that Alamo had them beaten.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Barry Bryant said that Alamo was a flight risk in ordering him held without bail.

"There is serious risk (Alamo) will flee or fail to appear," Bryant said.

Child molester/rocker returns to Britain

Convicted child molester Gary Glitter, the '80s glam rocker who was deported from Vietnam after serving a prison sentence there, has returned to his native Britain after two other nations refused to allow him to enter.

Glitter's four-day odyssey of plane flights and rejection ended at Heathrow Airport near London.

Both Thailand and Hong Kong refused to let Glitter -- famous mostly for the song "Rock and Roll Part 2" -- into their countries because of his conviction for molesting a couple of young girls in Vietnam.

Glam rocker/child molester turned away by two countries

Nobody seems to want aging glam rocker Gary Glitter, recently released from a Vietnamese prison after serviing time for molesting two young girls.

First he tried to fly to Thailand, but that country wouldn't let the convicted child molester in. Then he flew to Hong Kong. Same story there.

Now he has agreed to fly back to the United Kingdom after originally balking at returning to his native country.

Rocker Gary Glitter freed from Vietnamese prison

There's word from Vietnam that British glam rocker Gary Glitter -- you remember, "Rock and Roll (Part 2)" -- has been freed from prison after serving nearly three years for child molestation.

Glitter, whose real name is Paul Francis Gadd, 64, will be deported Vietnamese officials said. Glitter says he doesn't want to return to Britain and may resume his singing career in Hong Kong or Singapore.

He was convicted of molesting two girls, ages 10 and 11.

Child advocate in Austin accused of molestation

If a girl needs a court-appointed special advocate, there is turmoil in her life, frequently from abuse or neglect. But the CASA is there to help her get from a temporary bad situation into a safe and healthy environment -- perhaps a permanent home.

But when the CASA molests her, she could wind up spending the rest of her life dealing with that abuse.

Now a court-appointed advocate in Ausin is in the Travis County Jail, accused of aggravated sexual assault of an 8-year-old girl.

Billy Dan Carroll, 53, was arrested Sunday and was being held Wednesday on a bond of $2 million, according to The Associated Press.

Police have also said that they seized video allegedly showing him having sex with children ranging in age from 3 to 15 and two adult women who appeared to be unconscious.

Police Sgt. Brian Loyd said investigators are trying to determine the identity of the people on tape and hope victims will come forward.

"We don't know where it is going to end up, how many victims we may end up with," Loyd said. "There could be six. There could be 20. There is no telling."
