Play a great game, after a long day of commuting!

Sprint Sprint, the classic arcade game, just plain rocks! After spending the day stuck on Airport Freeway, release your frustration by winning a few races!!!
PLAY IT HERE

!@#$ ... I feel like I'm playing with my old friend Bart from sixth grade. The dude used to beat me at this game, like, two-thirds of the time! It's hard to get used to steering with keyboard arrows. Back in the day, when Bart and I hung out at Detour in El Paso, this game was played at a stand-up console with real steering wheels ... And you'd take every corner in a full-speed skid!

Cop alert TX-121 commuters:

121shield Watch your speed before Handley-Ederville just after the freeway merges into more lanes. He was sitting on the inside shoulder of the southbound lanes with a radar gun trained our way. In fact, that's a good place to watch your speed all the time, although it's tempting to accelerate around everyone and get back into the inside lanes. I've seen speed traps there before.Wilred2

Waiting for the work to end on 377 ...

Us377 A 377 update from a reader who lives in Keller:
Keller city engineer, Keith Fisher recently gave a progress report on the Highway 377 construction. Mr. Fisher stated that the project manager has a target date of April 1st for opening all southbound lanes that are currently under construction. The light that has been installed at the Johnson Road intersection should be operational by this time also. A new intersection will be established at Mt.Gilead Road and the new Katy Road rail crossing. The current plan for the old rail crossing at Caylor Road is to re-establish the rail crossing providing access to Katy Road. A short term completion date for the Mt. Gilead Road and Caylor Road projects has not been released. Once completed there will be stop lights at Mt. Gilead, Johnson, Keller-Hicks and Golden Triangle. Mr. Fisher expects these lights to be set on a timing pattern to allow for a smooth flow of traffic, similar to the lights along Keller Parkway.

6 mph traffic; Great Way to Start the Week

I35w_2 Outrageous. The only word to describe what was a minor accident slowing northbound traffic on Interstate 35 between Alsbury and Garden Acres to less than a crawl. It took 30 minutes to go three miles. North Texas needs some kind of traffic SWAT teams to move these kind of non-injury, non-fatality crunches out of the way as quickly as possible. What a waste of gasoline, time and tempers on a Monday morning.Labbe -- J.R.

Those dang red light cameras

This is an e-mail from Mel, a reader and Honkin' Mad veteran:Redlightfive_2

Gordo, When I'm coming North on Bryant Irvin at night I take a right to dip down to Vickery. There have been a couple of times that the dadblamed camera has gone off. I haven't run any lights. What's up with that??

Question #2, because you know me... well, what in the tarnation are you supposed to do if you are past the middle of the intersection, the light is short and goes yellow and the light turn red? Are you supposed to A. Back up and get back into position? That is if there isn't a car behind you. B. Speed up and drive like a bat outta hell to miss the camera? C. Hit the joker who didn't know what in the daylights to do in the first place?

And lastly but never leastly: What is the real deal about that vanishing plate spray?? Is it just high gloss enamal? Does it have flecks of glitter in it to cause the over exposure?

HalibutAnd just for the halibut: Cars look awful with a front plate on them. BTW: Did I tell ya I got to sit in a DeLorean the other day? If ya wanna know, I'll tell ya the whole story. It's pretty funny actually.... mel

Charlie vents about merging, cameras & tolls

Tx170 Here's an e-mail from Keller resident Charlie. Does anyone else know something about these topics? At Charlie's request, we've added a category for Texas 170 in the Alliance area.Bigpurplefrog

I'd love to complain about folk's inability to merge correctly, proposed Westlake red light cameras and the prospect of building a tollway, but I have no place to post it!  It'll get me a mug more quickly as well! Thanks, Charlie (thebigpurplefrog) Keller, TX
