Should trucks stay outta the left lane?

Notrucks Residents who want to learn about plans to ban trucks from the left lane of freeways are invited to attend a meeting Tuesday (Aug. 11) in Fort Worth.

The meeting is hosted by the North Central Texas Council of Governments. It will begin at 6 p.m. at the Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center, 1001 Jones St.

  • Trucks and other vehicles with three or more axles are already banned from the left lane on Interstate 30 from Hulen Street in Fort Worth to Collins Street in Fort Worth, and part of I-20 in Dallas. A proposal under consideration by planners would extend the bans to include most of I-20 and I-30 in Dallas-Fort Worth, possibly next year. — G.
