iPhone 2.0 problems go on

134923restoremode I still don't have an iPhone, but I"m getting close. I have several iPods and even an iPod touch.

Apple's commercials on the new iPhone tout it as twice as fast as the older version (old as in a year old) but the problems I read about, say there are about twice as many problems.

Rob Griffith's is a well respected MacWorld writer and here is his take on some of the problems and what to do if you have a locked up iPhone.

One hint from me, which should be no secret - BACK UP YOUR MUSIC!

Here's the story.

Apple yawns at Zune

Asap_moneygadgets_zune_secret Interesting tidbit of information in the August issue of MacWorld magazine. Microsoft's media player, called the Zune, announced they have sold 2 million of its players since its launch in November 2006. This gave them 4 percent of the market for MP3 players.

Apple
sold 10.6 million iPods in the first quarter alone ending March 31, 2008.

You do the math, maybe that money Microsoft is throwing at the Zune should go to making Vista working something close to Apple's OS?

Didn't Dell Computers give it a try in the game to take on the iPod a few years ago? How's that working out?

Think I'm a Mac fan?

iPhone: The Missing Manual Ebook-- New from O'Reilly

9780596521677_lrg David Pogue,a weekly personal-technology columnist for the New York Times and an Emmy award-winning tech correspondent for CBS News has published iPhone: The Missing Manual Ebook-- New from O'Reilly

The press release stated "The new iPhone 3G has a nicer shape, GPS, and of course 3G speeds in the big cities," says a blissed-out David Pogue. “But it’s the iPhone 2.0 software and the App Store that really change the game.” A year ago, Pogue, the New York Times technology columnist and bestselling author, helped usher in the iPhone Age with his entertaining, definitive, bestselling guide, iPhone: The Missing Manual.

The print version of iPhone: The Missing Manual, Second Edition can be purchased on or around Aug. 15. But for those who don't want to wait for the book (or prefer a virtual one), an electronic down-loadable version of the book is also available, in three different formats. The PDF (available now) and EPUB versions can be read on the iPhone; the Mobipocket version can be uploaded onto the Amazon Kindle e-book reader. Best of all: those who pre-order the print book/electronic bundle (which includes all three e-book formats—PDF, EPUB, and Kindle-compatible Mobipocket) instantly save 70% on the book.

old or new?

81512818mt006_new_iphone_3g Old iPhone.......new iPhone. Many have made the new purchase, but what do you do with the old one?

There are countless amounts of old iPhones out there for purchase but a company, Rapid Repair has started an iPhone buy back program through which people are receiving as much as $150 for their old 16 gig phone. Rapid Repair has already received hundreds of phones from iPhone 3G users.

I have no iPhone so I don't care, but you might.

iPhone 2.0?

Apple_iphone New iPhones from Apple?

Lots going on today with Apple CEO Steve Jobs at the Worldwide Developers Conference.

Cheaper ($$) phones, better networks? Original iPhone users mad because they have to buy a new one?

Many questions, check out this MacWorld story for many of the answers.

One year later

Apple_iphone_accessories It's been about a year since the Apple marketing blitz hit the airwaves with the iPhone campaign......and its about to happen again. If the rumors are true, the new iPhone 2 should be out any day.

It should be bigger and better with features, smaller in size along with a bigger screen, but smaller dimensions and bigger prices, which should be lower. What did I just say?

Who knows, but for sure it will be cool. Take a look at this, at thestreet.com. It's their predictions on what will be in the device.
