Court ruling favors Davis

Former Fort Worth City Council member Wendy Davis will be on the ballot unless a ruling Wednesday is overturned by the state Supreme Court.

The Second Court of Appeals ruled that Davis can run for the state Senate, saying that three Fort Worth firefighters who challenged Davis’ eligibility to seek the Democratic Party’s nomination had no standing to do so. The court did not rule on the issue raised by the firefighters, which was that Davis was ineligible to run because of a state law that prevents sitting elected officials from being candidates for the Legislature.

You really expected a court, any court, in Fort Worth to rule against Ms. Davis? I'll bet you believe in the Tooth Fairy as well! Thank God there is a Supreme Court and it isn't in Fort Worth.
