Republican State Rep. Charlie Geren, left, is facing one of the most high-profile primary challenges of anyone in the state and Friday night, he hopes to show he's not scared.
Geren's hosting a campaign rally at the Cowgirl Museum Friday night and he's bringing out some big gun supporters. Guests include US Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison and US Reps. Kay Granger and Michael Burgess.
State Sens. Kim Brimer, Jane Nelson and Chris Harris are all scheduled to be at the rally too.
Attendees to the rally will have to pay a $25 contribution to Geren's campaign fund.
While optometrist Tom Annunziato says he's challenging Geren because Geren's lost his conservative values, most political observers believe the race is about one thing and one thing only: Geren's vociferous opposition to House Speaker Tom Craddick.
We'll see if Craddick has anything to say about the Geren/Annunziato match-up or any other local races when he speaks to the Tarrant County Republican Party's Executive Committee this Monday.

Craddick knows better than to come to Fort Worth and bad mouth Geren. Annunziato has met with Craddick and I am sure sold his soul for a seat on Public Health to help his profession. Wonder how much TMA will put up for Geren, or are they Craddick's boys as well.
