Denver-bound bloggers

One of the longest-running Austin political blogs will be credentialed like the regular press at this summer's Democratic National Convention, but with better seats.

BorThe unabashedly Democratic Burnt Orange Report, which has been posting Web logs on politics and government since 2003, will be one of 55 blog groups from all of the states and the sundry territories selected to cover the Democrats, national party Chairman Howard Dean announced today.

Matt Glazer, Burnt Orange's editor-in-chief, said he and his crew of about two will be reporting live from the convention floor embedded with the Texas delegation in Denver. Mainstream reporters typically get less accessible work space.

"If there does turn out to be a floor fight, we'll be right there on the floor as it happens," said Glazer, whose blog was chosen over several Texas-based outlets.
