Two writers at Politico.com list five places Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton should campaign together. One is San Antonio but not because they think the state may tilt blue this year.
Rather, Charles Mahtesian and Amie Parnes argue that an event in San Antonio with Clinton would help Obama "among the older Hispanic voters who were underwhelmed by his candidacy during the primary season."

We urgently need for Democrats (and Republicans) to become parties of national vision again, even if it involves campaigning in states they don't think they can carry in THIS election. They also need to spend LESS time in swing states, which often involve pandering to small groups in ways that betray the national interest (think of the promises made to Cuban emigrés in Florida or the commitment to keep open obsolete naval yards in Pennsylvania). If they visit all the major states, they are more likely to keep their message one geared to all Americans. Best of all would be to replace the Electoral College obscenity with a straight popular vote, making all votes equal; but that's not likely to happen soon.
