Democrats heading to Denver for their party's national convention later this month will be witness to a rare sight: A six-acre crop circle.
Not just any crop circle. This one is promoting pizza.
Papa John's has created a very large rendering of a pizza -- made from pepperonis (red mulch), green peppers (corn stalks), black olives (black mulch) and cheese (harvested wheat) to promote its 100 percent whole wheat pizza crust.
"The benefits of whole grains are many, and we hope this sends a positive message to kids heading back to school, people flyin gin to Denver for the DNC and health concious consumers everywhere," said Bill Van Epps, Papa John's president.
It took 600 hours to create the design in a wheat field of Commerce City, Colo., about a mile away from Denver's airport runways.
