ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Texas Railroad Commissioner Michael Williams will have the highly sought after honor of making the formal motion to nominate Sen. John McCain as the Republican's presidential candidate.
Williams is expected to make the motion between 6:30-7:30 Wednesday night. This matches the role Hillary Clinton had in nominating Barack Obama as the Democratic nominee.
Williams, of Arlington, also is expected to formally introduce McCain to the convention Thursday night, for McCain to accept the nomination. Scheduling is still up in the air, but Williams is tentatively expected to make the introduction around 8:45 p.m. Thursday.

Michael Williams is a wonderful gentleman. I had the pleasure of first hearing him and them speaking with him at the RPT convention in Houston in June. He is very articulate and sincere. I would not mind seeing him on a Presidential ticket some day.
