Debate on electronic voting machines coming up in Austin
Just days before Texans start casting ballots in early voting, a state senate committee is planning a hearing on whether electronic voting machines should be trusted.
The Senate State Affairs Committee will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Austin to hear testimony on security and accuracy issues in Texas elections.
A Rice University professor who thinks Texas' electronic voting machines may have already been hacked without our knowledge will be among the witnesses.
Expect plenty of calls for paper receipt backups and at least one reference to the 2006 primary when Tarrant County accidentally tallied an extra 100,000 voters who didn't exist.
Those of us that do exist but won't be in Austin will be able to watch the hearing live here.

Check out the documentary "uncounted". After seeing it you will want to throw electronic voting machines in the garbage.
