Criticizing the president? Who do they think they are...the press? Those racists!

Brown Bess

Uh, I think it's the way they were doing it. I can't remember any anti-Bush protest that used a noose, can you?

Dolores Madrid

It is very interesting to know what one of Texas' University's are teaching the young people. I am sure that the parents have also taught this type of behavior to them.

Since Our New President shows America's diversity, these young people are going to have a very hard time living in this new world.

God Bless President Elect Obama and God bless America. And God Bless these poor misguided youth!

Wonder whether the Baylor bunch got some technical advice on bonfires from the Aggie bunch?

Ignorami.

There are many good students at Baylor who do not portray the evil racism of this sorry lot. I would wager that most--if not every one of them--make it a point to be in church on Sunday, studying Jesus' teachings and God's word. How awful to have to go to school with such hypocritical children--children taught this hate by their own evil, hateful parents--no doubt "good Christians" as well.

God bless America and the whole world too. Get used to it, haters.

Allan

I'm sure these people are the same people that insisted that the same such actions and comments toward Bush were un-American and un-Patriotic. Typical hypocrisy from the right, and apparently even more so the farther right you go.

Lavonda McGuire

Brown Bess -- "I can't remember any anti-Bush protest that used a noose, can you?"

You are kidding, right? President Bush has been treated horribly - his effigy has been cursed, burned, dissembled, dragged, and hung in protest all around the world, but especially in California and down in a Crawford ditch. The Star-Telegram didn’t feel that it was politically expedient to report it . . .

You have to find other news sources for the full picture of what is going on.

JR

No I haven't seen nooses in any George Bush protests but I have seen him portrayed as Hitler and with swastikas which is just as offensive. How dare these people protest, how dare they exercise their freedom of expression. Funny they are using the same freedoms that Ol Bud uses to print his stories bashing them, ironic. This is the treatment to expect when you question this administration, just look at Joe Plumber. What's next, maybe Barack will ban expression that he deems dangerous like that of the NRA ads he silenced. Already the injustices start;
Buck Burnette, yes what he said was wrong but sometimes people say things that are wrong but they have the right to say them, well maybe not.
Caitlyn Davis, or sometimes they are associated with some harmless practical joke yet their career is ruined.

Dissension will be dealt with swiftly and justice nor common sense will be nowhere in sight.

To JR

Your post continues the fear-mongering that got us to where we are today. You are completely unfair and off the subject.

Yes, Bush was portrayed as Hitler at some protests. Why? Because he tortures people, many of them innocent civilians. Torturers are criminals and should be treated as such.

Funny how so many Bushites accused anti-war protesters of being guilty of treason when they exercised their freedom of speech to protest a war based on lies.

Joe the Plumber came under scrutiny when he was caught on camera lying--by the press, not Obama--so let's try to keep the facts straight.

And I encourage you to most definitely "question this administration," as I plan to do. And President Obama will listen to you. You can expect an administration, rather than an attempted monarchy.

"Dissension will be dealt with swiftly and justice nor common sense will be nowhere in sight." In response to this, I suggest that you look into the firings of the Justice Department attorneys who dissented with Bush's failed policies. Barack is intelligent and experienced enough to know that dissent fine tunes the final decision. He is open for it. No one, and I mean no one, can handle being chair of a major school's law review without listening to arguments and coming to a consensus.

Nooses, JR, are a sign of racism and the symbolic expression of a desire to revert to a time when we white, Southern Americans turned our heads and looked away from evil. Just like the Germans did during the Holocaust and just like Bush thought he could make Americans do after the gruesome discoveries of Gitmo and other offshore “detainment centers” used by this administration. Yes, I will defend these students' right to express their hatred and fear, but I will war against the platitudes these children learned from their fearful, ugly, hateful, hypocritical parents. Hopefully, they will realize the error of hate and discard those evil teachings.

Lavonda McGuire

SilverQueen . . .

Referring to Bush, you state "Because he tortures people, many of them innocent civilians. Torturers are criminals and should be treated as such."

What?

"Joe the Plumber came under scrutiny when he was caught on camera lying"

What?

Gee whiz SilverQueen . . . you discredit yourself right in the beginning with false rantings.

Oh wait there is more . . . I looked up at your other post . . .

"How awful to have to go to school with such hypocritical children--children taught this hate by their own evil, hateful parents--no doubt "good Christians" as well.

Wow . . . Look inward.

isn,t it funny how texans preach the bible on sunday but hate on mtwtf. way to go little house on the prairie idiots.

JR

Silver Queen,
I am not a Bush or War supporter so attacking those does not invalidate my argument. I am defending the students right to speech and expression. It may be wrong or offensive but it is their right. I don't remember the first amendment only covering non-offensive and acceptable speech. Um, my the way your last paragraph made my point.

Bubba

Facts:

Some people are idoits.
Nothing we can do about it.

It wasn't a noose
I saw it it was an overhand loop on a piece of STRING at ground level. Bad taste but half-assed.

Baylor PD are idiots. When I classify a riot as tweenty people standing outside talking, on a campus road that has little traffic. I will tell the late night starbucks crowd that they are disturbing the peace.

Burning plastic in a fire place, while bad for the ozone, is not illegal. these guys are obviously stupid (see idiot remark) but from what i saw on the video it was what 3 people????

Third how is this racist??? this is a political election. If these kids are upperclass (they go to a private univeristy) then they have every reason to be VERY upset that Obama got elected. Let them burn $5 signs, alot more is gonna be taken from their bank accounts.
