Burnam declares Craddick years 'over' -- again

The votes for Speaker of the Texas House won't be cast until Jan. 13.

But Fort Worth Democrat Lon Burnam, who has always voted against incumbent Speaker Tom Craddick, seems to think change is in the Austin wind.

This is from a fundraising letter asking for donations through PayPal:

I am very excited about the new direction our nation is taking and about the new possibilities here in Texas.  As you probably know we have two new Democratic members of the Tarrant County state legislative delegation, Wendy Davis and Chris Turner. 

It is also exciting that it is likely Tom Craddick's reign over the Texas House is over!

Since Republicans still have a 76-74 edge in the House, Burnam must be guessing that one of the half-dozen Republicans running against Craddick will organize centrist Republicans and Democrats to win.

Of course, Burnam has been criticizing Craddick for six years now.
