Star-Telegram photographer Rodger Mallison got this photo of Gov. Rick Perry firing off a six shooter filled with blanks Thursday in downtown Fort Worth. Perry and Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief were both given guns to shoot in the air to kickoff a weekend of NASCAR racing at the Texas Motor Speedway.
Anyone care to offer an alternate caption?

If only Perry cared as much about Texas as he does about photos ops..

I think the trophy behind him says it all: "winner".

In a city shaken by the senseless murder of a 17-year-old honor student earlier this week, I think the sight of Gov. Perry firing a gun in the air in downtown Fort Worth displays an enormous lack of sensitivity and bad taste at best.

Guns, Perry, and Nascar...the trifecta of trash.

In Britain there are very tough gun regulations and basically the only folks who have guns, are the police and criminals and many decent law abiding folks are now no longer sure what side the police are on, give the way Islamist thugs are mollycoddled and the often ramboesque attitude of the police to ordinary members of the public.
