Southwest union slams "fake flight attendants"

Southwest's flight attendants are upset about a new company practice of putting supervisors and managers in a flight crew position - labled the "D flight attendant" - that was traditionally reserved for attendant trainees. The Transport Workers Union, which represents the airline's attendants, believes the practice is a contract violation, could be a safety issue and ultimately eliminates a position that had previously gone to union members.

They've labeled the in-flight supervisors "fake flight attendants." They've also used Southwest's unique sense of humor, with a music video called "It's not D-LUVly." The song includes new lyrics set to Cole Porter's "De-Lovely."

The flight is on, the skies are clear
The Southwest “D” Flight Attendants are near,
It's demeaning, it's deceptive, it's despicable.

I understand the reason why.
The D Flight Attendants are only here to spy.

It's demeaning, it's deceptive, it's despicable.

At first glance you would think you were on
Northwest, the old Eastern, Air France.
This is not our company at its best.
NOT THE CULTURE OF HERB'S SOUTHWEST.

Please be sweet and please take care and in a whisper please repeat:

It's demeaning, it's deceptive, it's despicable,
it’s deplorable, it's dilemma, it's demented, it's not Not D-LUVly.
