The Transport Workers Union Local 555, which represents 7,200 ramp, operations and provisioning workers as well as freight agents at Southwest Airlines, are conducting informational picketing at Dallas Love Field today. Union officials say the picketing is a response to stalled contract negotiations, which began last January but have broken down over wages.
The union and the airline filed for mediation on Oct. 31.
The picketing will begin at 1 p.m. and is scheduled to last for three hours. It will expand to other airports in coming weeks, according to the union.

With all due respect.
With the whole economy crashing and more of the flying public losing jobs everyday perhaps prolonging contact talks is less than brilliant strategy.
