More pilot recalls at American next month

The Allied Pilots Association is telling members that they expect American to recall 24 furloughed pilots in February, and they anticipate a similar number to return in March. American had been bringing back pilots last year, but halted the recalls once it started cutting capacity.

As before, the recalls are to replacing pilots lost to retirement and attrition, rather than any growth at the airline.

Understanding that this doesn't represent true growth, but I would think this should even for the APA. It could be worse: they could have decided to eliminate those slots altogether.
