It looks like Michelle Peluso, CEO of Southlake-based Travelocity.com, is leaving. She'll be replaced by Hugh Jones, who is currently chief operating officer for both Sabre Travel Network and Sabre Airline Solutions.
Peluso was among the higher-profile woman CEOs in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and she led the company to a financial turnaround after 2003. It's now owned by private investment firms Silver Lake and TPG as part of Sabre Holdings.
Peluso is probably best known among travelers for overseeing the "traveling gnome" advertising campaign.
Interestingly, rival online travel agent Orbitz also announced the departure of its CEO today. Steve Barnhart resigned "to pursue other interests," according to a company press release. He'll be replaced by Barney Harford, who spent eight years working for Expedia.
