Storm spotters are saying a wall cloud has been spotted 2 miles east Interstate 35E in Lewisville.

CoCoRAHS update: Hurray for you!

If you read our print version, you may have seen this recent story about CoCoRAHS.

And many of you responded.

There are 18 new CoCoRAHS members to help the forecasters better monitor rainfall amounts. And, Bill Bunting, meteorologist-in-charge of the Fort Worth office for the NWS reports that several of you are in areas that really needed better monitoring.

Hood County: 1-inch hail and 60 mph wind

As the storm passed through Hood, an amateur radio operator submitted a report of 1 inch hail at 2:38 p.m. and easterly 60 mph wind at 2:30 p.m. to the National Weather Service. Both come from the Granbury area.

Severe thunderstorm warning for Somervell, Bosque and Erath counties

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FORT WORTH HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING UNTIL 3"45 P.M. FOR  NORTHERN BOSQUE COUNTY, SOUTHERN ERATH COUNTY AND SOMERVELL COUNTY.

AT 249 PM CDT, NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS DETECTED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.  THIS STORM WAS LOCATED 34 MILES SOUTHWEST OF DINOSAUR VALLEY STATE PARK AND MOVING NORTHEAST AT 39 MPH. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WILL BE NEAR DINOSAUR VALLEY STATE PARK BY 335 PM, GLEN ROSE BY 340 PM.
