Tuesday evening storms expected to be widespread

Nevada There is a single, slow-moving storm system in Nevada at the moment. Forecasters are looking at a 36-hour window starting Tuesday evening for this storm to cause widespread heavy rain and possibly severe weather -- wind damage, hail, etc.

Chances start around, oh, 7 p.m. Tuesday, and increase after 1 a.m.

"The first batch will probably be bad," meteorologist Nick Hampshire with the National Weather Service said. "But we could also see some more on Wednesday afternoon, after we get surface heating."

By early Thursday morning, the system should be clear of us, but there will be a 20 percent chance of rain lingering on Thursday.
