Fort Worth school district has canceled athletic events. All soccer events that have been canceled are expected to be played on Saturday. Check with home teams for new game times.

Melody Johnson is endangering our children. It is curently 32.7 degrees. Middle school will be in session for another hour. My son has an hour bus ride. Melody should dismiss school before the roads get bad.

Melody Johnson is too busy sky diving with the Golden Knights to care about making a decision for early school closing. Hope the kids and school bus drivers make it home safely.

To say she's endagering your children because it is 32.7 degrees is just outright foolishness!!

Personally, I think FWISD does a GREAT job making decisions about the weather. Once, when the weather was actually dangerous, my children were taken quickly to a structurally-sound and secure area until the danger passed.
As a foster-parent of two special-needs students, I can say FWISD is absolutely the most proactive school district in this part of the country. I feel extremely fortunate to have access to all these extraordinary educational professionals known as FWISD employees.
